I have never used a mac before but yeah, yorufukurou is really nice.

A year ago, I'd ask people to try Gwibber, but I don't really like it anymore, since it has much better support on Ubuntu than on Fedora,
and it's timeline refresh doesn't work nicely as expected. And the timeline doesn't work after the second time you open the app. So, nowadays,
I mostly use TweetDeck Chrome App on Chromium.

For music management, I'd say give Banshee a try.

When first time i joined the company which almost run windows as desktop environment, i thought it will be tough to run a Linux machine in there, specially when it comes to Email, Collaboration tools etc..

So for example our mail server was exchange, so i started running outlook in the virtulbox and placed it on "second" workspace and left it open all the time, Evolution wasn't good so i had to do it in this way.

Then i came across this post "http://guzaho.wordpress.com/2011/10/18/thunderbird-as-client-for-microsoft-exchange-2010-server-on-ubuntu-11-10/" which explain how to run Thunderbird with exchange.

for now i only use windows for ms office, other than that everything seems to be running fine.

After reading your post I have to say: respect. I never want to leave my mac again. Windows at work is a mus but that's work things.

Since I bought my first Mac in 2007 I mus say that I get much more things done in an better an element way than before. Probably that has something to do with not playing games so much but the main reason is that I have a fast desktop and the power of unix under the hood to get things done if you need to and are willed to spend some time to get a script working. And that is so much faster.

Linux on desktop might be fine, I still have to look into it but your article encouraged me to do that anytime soon

Good luck with it and I'm interested in reading your article about fedora 18 on MBP. I might consider giving it a try, but I am still more a centos user.

Heya Major - I had the same ICC problem with my new-to-me m4600 and figured out a smooth way to get it applied:

<a href="http://tacticalvim.wordpress.com/2012/08/10/applying-an-icc-profile-in-linux/" rel="nofollow">applying an ICC profile in Linux</a>

Hope this helps you some, the oddball colour temperature was driving me nuts - I'm a happy camper these days (sans the stupid firewire chipset in this laptop not supported yet).
